Kankai Mata Mandir
In the heart of the jungle, 50 km from Sasan Gir, there is a shrine to Kankai Mata,
the benefactor of the shepherds of Gir forest. A supremely wild place, here you
can hear lions roar at night and animals gathering at the nearby lake. There is a bus from Junagadh every morning that leaves at 8 am, stays one hour at the temple, and departs on the return journey at 9:45 am. But to really experience the place,
go with private transport and stay the night. The high temple walls ensure your
safety, and once night falls, you can watch the stars through the jungle treetops,
hear lions roaming outside and experience a night in the true wilderness.
Talala, 15 km from Resort, is famous for two things: the cathedral-like Bhimdeval
Sun Temple and its huge orchards of kesar mangoes.
Junagadh is located at the foothills of Girnar hill in the Junagadh district of

Somnath temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The legend says, Somnath
was built by none other than the Moon God himself at the time of creation. The remains
of the temple "braved the shocks of time and survived the attacks of destroyers."
It is also a place where the three rivers Kapila, Hiran and Saraswati meet and flow
into the Arabian Sea.
Ahmedpur-Mandvi lies about 70 km from Sasan Gir and is one of the finest beaches
